Sister: a person who’s been where you’ve been; someone you can call when things aren’t going your way. More than just family, a Sister is a forever friend.
I always wanted to have a bigger brother who would teach me about life, who would be my best friend and who would protect me. But than my parents told me I will have a little Sister….I wasn’t thrilled at first or at second sight 🙂 but hey, you don’t get to choose your family :)) Jokes apart, growing up with my Sister was a real blessing 🙂 Of course we had our ups and downs, like all siblings, but I wouldn’t change not even a tiny thing. Our quarrels were mostly because of the age differences: 4 years may not seem a lot, but up until the age of 16 it felt like 40 for me 😆 It wasn’t until than, that I felt that I have a connection with my little sister 😁 I started seeing in my little sister a friend, and my little sister finally became a grownup 🤗 someone I could talk to, someone I could confide in, someone I could turn to in need. She became my best friend. We had – and still have – our disagreements, but that’s what helps us look at things from different perspectives. My sister is – at least most of the time – very impulsive, doesn’t really think twice, while I am a little bit more realistic – sometimes maybe to much so 🙂 My sister is a truly artistic soul, I, on the other hand, am more of a sales person type. She is kind and gentle, always smiling at everyone and everything; me, I’m rather the suspicious type, it’s hard to impress me. I could go on and on with our differences in type, but I think you get the picture 🙂 The main message here is that we complete each-other. I guess this is one of the reasons my sister asked me to join her company and be part of her dream. I have to say I was touched and honored at the same time. When my little sister, Valbona, started her own brand, I was so proud of her for following her dreams and never giving up on them. I, myself wasn’t as brave as she was, when she decided to give up her career at a big multinational company in order to follow her dream. Ofcourse, as a good big sister, I supported her every step of the way. I think this was the first time I looked up at her, and not only because I am taller than she is :))) Many people have dreams, but only few of them pursue those dreams and even fewer fight for their dreams. My little Sister is one of the even fewer who don’t just fight for their dreams, but who do not give up until that dream finally becomes reality. And to think, that she chose me to be part of this, it’s the best thing that a little sister could give to her bigger sis 🙂 And so, now, we are conquering the world of fashion: two sisters together for ever 🙂 Watch out world, there’s no stopping us! 🙂
Valbona Kabo – I love you to the moon and back 🙂
